Twicetold ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we handle it.

1. Data We Collect

Account information: When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and display name. If you use guest mode, we create an anonymous account with no personal identifiers.

Story data: The stories you create, choices you make, and completed stories saved to your library are stored on our servers so you can access them across devices.

Purchase data: Token purchases and subscription status are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We receive confirmation of purchases but never see your payment details, card numbers, or billing address.

Usage analytics: We collect anonymised usage data such as which genres are popular, session duration, and feature usage. This helps us improve the app. We do not track your identity across other apps or websites.

Advertising: If you watch rewarded video ads to earn tokens, our ad partner (Google AdMob) may collect device identifiers for ad targeting. You can opt out of personalised ads in your device settings.

2. How We Use Your Data

We use your data to:

• Provide the Twicetold service — generating stories, saving progress, syncing across devices
• Process and verify in-app purchases and subscriptions
• Improve the app through anonymised analytics
• Deliver rewarded video ads when you choose to watch them
• Send optional notifications (only if you enable them)

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your story content for any purpose other than delivering it back to you.

3. AI-Generated Content

Stories are generated by AI (Anthropic's Claude) in real-time based on your genre selection and choices. Your story content is sent to Anthropic's API for generation and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the duration of the request. We do not use your stories to train AI models.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely on Supabase (hosted on AWS in Europe). We use encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest. Access to our database is restricted to authorised personnel only.

5. Data Retention

Your account data and saved stories are retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and all associated data
• Export your stories (available via PDF export for Premium subscribers)
• Opt out of personalised advertising via your device settings

7. Children's Privacy

Twicetold is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly.

8. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and data storage
• Anthropic — AI story generation
• RevenueCat — subscription and purchase management
• Google AdMob — rewarded video ads
• Apple / Google — in-app purchase processing

Each of these services has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review them.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated via the app or email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
